I spoke with Joselin at Uassist.ME, who helped walk me through the company’s services. I found her to be professional, friendly, and energetic, with excellent English skills (and naturally Spanish skills as well).
She explained that her Uassist.ME co-workers are all fluent English speakers with neutral American accents because of their proximity to the US and familiarity with the culture. In fact, El Salvador uses the US Dollar as their official currency.
The company specializes in remote administrative services, but is expanding into e-commerce, back-office, lead generation, and digital marketing services.

I agree with a lot of the more recent reviews that this is substandard virtual assistant company to be avoided, especially given the wide range of other truly professional companies that are out there. I hired them work as both a virtual assistant and help developing a new website. They talk a big game about their capabilities and are very courteous on the phone, however, when you look at their work product it is substandard. There were grammatical and spelling mistakes every third sentence of the content they drafted for me. I even gave them spelling and grammar lessons on keywords they were repeatedly misspelling, and they continued to do so. I had them replace my original virtual assist him with a new one who turned out to be worse than the first.
I also paid for 40 hours a week but only received about 20 to 25 hours of actual work. I asked them to credit the unused hours they refused to do so. That was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
They also claim that all of their virtual assistance and web designers work at an office space. This is false. I routinely spoke with people who were working from home where dogs were barking and babies were crying in the background. When I made a comment about where they were working I always got the same response: They were either having computer and network problems or their Internet was down again.
I wish someone had warned me about this company so I didn’t waste my time and money. I would be happy to give more examples and even show you their work product in order to help you avoid working with this company.

My experience with Uassist.ME was outstanding! I had a dedicated assistant there for over a year. My mistake was canceling their service for a while and losing her to another client. My assistant was extremely punctual, intelligent, committed, hardworking, and great at details. I did have another for a very short time that left the company, unfortunately. In reading the reviews I was excited to start with Uassistme. I lost my last assistant and was quick to hire Uassistme. I provided the info for the team to flow and pick up the work. I didn’t even start yet and only spoken with Debbie once. I spoken with Jackie to which didn’t seem understanding of my major need to begin with the company right away. She said Debbie would contact me the same day. 1.5-2 days later, I reached out to Debbie. Debbie emailed me to talk because she was swamped. I shared with her what I wanted and needed, but wanted to ensure Maria, who was assigned to me, knew Kajabi CRM and Typeform. I have had horror stories with VAs, or at least the customer service rep saying their team knows something and then finds out they do not smh.
Anyway, bottom line, Debbie got back to me in a day or two again stating no proposal yet until I am ok that Maria doesn’t know the CRM I use or Typeform platform. I asked if there were anyone else that knew how to that could be assigned to me while Maria learns these platforms.
Well, no response. I am not sure if I didn’t stress the importance of wanting to start right away so that my engagement and consistency on my social media platforms do not wane again. Inconsistency can really mess up your visibility and trust of potential prospects and clients.
So with that said, I am disappointed of the lag in time, a whole week, after daily emails from me stressing the importance of me wanting to start, literally ready to pay for the 40 hour plan and see how it works with us. I never even gotten that far. So if it is like this Before Starting, then I am not willing to risk it once I put my hard earned dollars to this company. Sorry.

My small business needed help handling the everyday administrative tasks because we started to grow and our current staff was starting also to get overwhelmed by those little things that need to be done constantly.
I considered previously hiring a VA company but never decided to do so until that time. When I found out about Uassist I thought it was worth a try and contacted them.
The signup process was easy and very quickly I was already working with a VA from them. She was very fast learner and picked up everything really quickly and we were delighted by her performance. So much that eventually we hired another VA because our company has continued to grow.

Let me put it simple: Their design team is great!
I needed help with some logos and institutional design pieces so I ended up hiring their services. I doubted at first but the results were fantastic, so I was greatly surprised and continue to work with them for every design need my company has.
In the beginning, I was a little skeptical about hiring a VA, since I like to have full control over my things and trust my tasks mostly to people I know. In spite of that, there are times when you get a lot to do and find yourself unable to do everything at the same time. Therefore, I encouraged myself to look for an assistant. I visited Uassist.me and took the 20 hours plan just as a try. At that exact point, I was wondering if it was really worthy. I knew that the person I was talking to lived far away from my location, but certainly, she could understand everything I was needing to do, and also, she provided me with many ideas on how to manage all the tasks. It’s been around 8 months yet, I have moved to the part-time plan because it has really helped to manage all my things. I can attend my clients here in my office, while my assistant helps me processing data and sometimes managing my own agenda. Has been a long process but it’s actually worth it.
Having to rely on others is sometimes difficult, but having to trust your business to strangers is even harder –I used to think that way before hiring my Uassist.Me VA. Now, I must admit that it was really hard for me to even today trust my personal information with her, though she has proven to a great asset to my business. I’ve been using the VA services for a couple of weeks now and I’m thrilled with the results I’ve been getting so far. I use the 4 hour plan with a VA that has excellent English skills, she’s always been responsive and willing to learn. I’m definitely getting my money’s worth and I would recommend it to anyone.
I’ve tried a few VA services. This one was definitely the best. I was exposed to it through YEC.
They were very accommodating with my needs: I was looking for a VA with specific requirements, tried one that didn’t work out, they worked to find an appropriate one and the one I got was amazing.
This has been a life changer.
I used this firm for several months this past summer at the “Shared Assistant” Level. I think the “about 2 – 4 hours per day” is a little vague. I did not use my VA everyday, but I gave her a (maximum) 1 hour task and I did not get it back for three business days. When I finally complained (how am I getting 2-4 hours per day when I am waiting three days for this 1-hour task?) I was THEN told she has had computer problems for the past couple of days. (so much for the “backup”) I was disappointed and I terminated the service.
It wasn’t all bad. My VA was otherwise responsive and her performance was good considering that she was still training. However, for $750.00 per month and a lack of reliability, I don’t think it was a good value.
I wanted to leave a positive recommendation for the work uassist.me has done for me over the past year. I’ve mainly worked with Jenny and Eduardo with a few months of Walter when I could afford it.
Both have been superb in helping me ramp up my side businesses. After a training period, things progressed smoothly. Jenny has always been willing and able to learn and for the most part grasps new ideas and tasks very well. There are a few instances of English nuances being a problem but those are few and far between.
I’m extremely happy with this service and plan on continuing with them forever at this point. Also wanted to note that Jackie has been a great person also to communicate and deal with in terms of payment and any other admin questions.

TL;DR
In a situation of crisis Uassist.me is no better than a VA hired from Elance/UpWork as they have in effect no backups. While their assistants have average market quality, their customer support is sketchy at best.
The whole story
I have used Uassist.me services for over a year. During this year I have not only developed a number of complex procedures and trained my assistant at lengths.
All of the routine procedures have been documented in very detailed SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) documents on my demand. A few routine tasks have slipped through the cracks, as my assistant had some engineering skills and did not need to always have a super detailed guide.
The assistant has never been as quick as someone hired on Elance, but I appreciated working together over a longer period of time. I was happy to pay the premium price that uassistme charge because I thought that they would better manage the staff that way. I was wrong.
One Monday morning a few weeks ago I find an email in my inbox from Uassist me saying that they have fired my assistant (he did not sign an general confidentiality agreement or similar document).
After I get over the fact that they fired the person I have been working with for over 1 year without asking me, I ask them for a solution and their only suggestion is that I train a new assistant.
In fact they blame me for not using backup assistants in the past and thus not having a trained backup. So actually the whole promise of having managed VAs is not full filled in case of a crisis. You get the damage, plus they even blame you.
I have been quite satisfied with my assistant, but I have to rate the service negatively on all levels because of the incompetence and – frankly – rudeness of the people handling the customer relationship.
This is the last time I use a company to manage my VAs. Anybody who thinks that having a company like uassist.me manage your VAs would give any edge is frankly quite drunk. I suggest they sober up. The best person to manage your VA or your team of VAs is you. Not any company out there.
Go out. Interview candidates. Pay them directly. That’s the only way to outsource to Vas as long as companies like Uassistme occupy this space.

I wanted to clear out the air a bit with this situation and further explain for our experience. I personally handled Matteo’s account for a long time and it was a pleasure working with him during his time within our company.
Unfortunately, due to an update on our clients’ security clauses, we needed to let his assistant go. Many of these assistants handle sensitive information, from regular things such as clients’ passwords or social media accounts, to highly-sensitive data, such as credit card information, IRS info, etc. As a company, we can’t let this information be threatened in any way.
Furthermore, once you sign up, we STRONGLY suggest allowing us, as a company, to provide ongoing training to a 3rd party in addition to your regular assistant so that these issues don’t happen. A few clients, like it happened with Matteo, request not to assign a back-up or request for a full-refund for the days the assistant is on vacation. And while we try to be as flexible as possible with our clients, these requests alter our Standard Operation Procedures in order to ensure that the work, and the quality of work, will continue to thrive in case the assistant leaves.
I completely empathize with the concerns Matteo shared with me and I 100% understand that people get attached to their assistants over time, but I’m positive that we have equally talented people on staff who would have been able to take over his assistant’s work, had we been allowed to train them through time.
Thankfully, our staff turnover is very low, but we are straight-forward with our clients that there’s always a possibility that the assistant might leave.
While we are disappointed that this business relationship ended the way it did, we had foreseen this move could bring some consequences, but our clients’ security/protection is more important.

I had to post a review here as I used the reviews of other people on this site to make my final decision of going with UAssistMe. It’s a gamechanger. I had a conversation with Jackie, who convinced me that I needed two part time assistants rather than one full time. This ended up being incredible advice- I’ve got one “go to” VA who handles personal things and admin tasks, and a more creative guy who does blog post outlines, creating templates, logos, presentations, images, etc. They are both amazing and easy to work with. I was able to interview them both on the phone before hiring. They are open to feedback. I skype with or talk to my general VA almost every day and his attitude is outstanding. I’ve used videos to train them both and they are exceptional. I was recently on a business trip for five days and was so please to log in when I got home and see that everything was organized, turned in, and operated entirely without me. As my business grows, I may bring one or both on full time to help me. It’s been a tremendous boost to what I can get done every week and I can’t say enough about the get it done attitude and the friendly nature of both individuals. They also send an end of day report every single day so you know what they worked on, and they ping you if there are questions. I strongly recommend using a project management software program (we use Trello) and videos to show the steps of a project. I have been working with them for just over three weeks and it’s kind of amazing what we’ve been able to accomplish. I cannot recommend this service strongly enough! Thanks to all those who submitted reviews in the past, I clicked “submit” to hire them both and could not be more pleased with my decision. If you’re overwhelmed and doing too much yourself, you need UAssistMe.
Wanted to post an update to my previous review. I have decided to keep one of the part time VAs but end the contract with the other. If you decide to hire someone part time, I suspect that the person may get overloaded with tasks that need done for their other clients. In late June/July, I noticed that some of the reliability started slipping and things weren’t getting done without my prompting. To be clear, I had expressed interest in hiring this person FT but he already had obligations to other part time clients. For that reason, I’ve decided to get back on the hunt for someone full time that can be my go-to person. This is the downside of doing the part time contracts- I think managing other client’s things can overwhelm someone and become too much. That being said, when I addressed the issue with uassistme they were professional and promised to share the comments with the supervisor. I should have hired this person FT out of the gate. If you suspect that you have enough work for FT, I recommend hiring someone for it right away otherwise you might learn, like I did, that they cannot guarantee availability and the individual might become too busy.
I really need to share this one.. I started working with VA companies after I read Tim Ferris’ book (4HWW) and I love the concept. I own a Head Hunting Firm based in Miami and with operations in Latin America. I have used Uassist since 2010 and my experience has been great! At first I was a bit hesitant to work virtually and delegate tasks (and share info) to someone that I’d never met before… But after that, slowly, I started giving my assistant information about my business and it has been great ever since! I like that Uassitme is interested in long term relationships with their clients.
My assistant is super dedicated! She even works afterhours when necessary and I feel a personal bond with her. I feel she is more like a partner than an assistant.

Uassist.me has been great thus far. I had contact with a woman named Jackie at the start who helped me figure out what I wanted done and then they matched me with James. We did a Skype interview and though a BIT hesitant because of his age (20) I went ahead and hired him because they give you a week of trial time and I figured I could always say no if he wasn’t what I needed.
He’s been great so far. I do feel somedays I’m paying for more time than I need in the initial phase and there’s a bit of “Oh crap what should I have him do this week” on Monday but it’s been amazing what I’ve ended up with. He’s helping me apartment hunt for a move to Denver, compared quotes for movers, found law firms for my partner to apply to, automated a lot of time consuming updates from my former employer and helped me create my potential client list for a new venture.
After my first month his supervisor Eduardo contacted me to check in and see how things were going with James. I gave him the pro cons and he helped me tweak my tasks to work a bit smoother with James and also gave James some additional training. The company feels like they’re really taking care of me as a client thus far.
In no small part thanks to James I’ve quit my management position to strike out on my own as a career/entrepreneurial coach. I’m planning on incorporating the virtual assistant work into my practice both for me and for my clients.
Can’t say enough good things about UAssist.me. We engaged with them in 2012 to have one of their reps help us out with general system administration and level 1 user support and the rep we were assigned did great following the instructions provided and delivering fantastic value and service. We had her provide Spanish translation services too and there were a series of grueling long system administration and other repetitive tasks that they simply saved us so much headache with. We paused their services for a few months and then re-engaged with them for another year; requesting the same rep. I personally know that I’d go back again to have the same awesome rep help us out with our next virtual assistant project. Keep up the good work!
Are these comments legit? Some of them sound so fake. I have been considering using uassistME, but have not found many other reviews besides the ones on this site, which I do not know if they can be trusted

Thanks for your note and definitely understand the concern.
I make every effort to vet the reviews that go live on VirtualAssistantAssistant.com, but won’t pretend to have a perfect system.
Among those on this page, I know David, Libby, and Michael personally, and of course Jackie has been great in my interactions with her.
One thing that Uassist has done a good job at is recognizing the exposure from the site and really being proactive about soliciting their own happy customers to come say nice things about them. (And I’m sure not pointing out the site to their less-than-happy ones, but hey, I can only moderate what comes across my desk.)
I think it’s one thing that’s helped fuel their growth the past couple years.
I see a lot of shady fake comments come through and am actively moderating for fakes. It’s kind of a fun game 🙂
But there’s nothing like first-hand experience. If you’re on the fence, my suggestion would be to set up an interview or short trial and see how they perform on the job.

I actually decided to bite the bullet and give Uassist.me a try, so I wanted to come back and assure your readers that I have had some very positive experiences with Uassist.me, like many of the other reviews here. I have now been using them for a little less than 2 weeks, but right away I noticed some major differences of Uassist.me over other companies I have used overseas. So far they have been very good with communication, proactive with getting things done, and delivering very good quality. The assistant that I have been working with is very pleasant to interact with. I know it is still early on in the process, but I am hopeful that Uassist.me will be a good choice in the long run.

UAssist.ME has been great for me. Our company processes have constantly been changing over the past few years and the VAs at UAssist.ME always adjust. It’s not an easy task to take care of all the customer and hotel needs and I’ve been pleased with their flexibility and growth along the way. They have helped with various SEO tasks, phone call handling, order processing, minimal accounting, and other random daily tasks. I’ve worked with 3 VAs and overall their spoken English is great and their written English is just below great. All 3 have been a pleasure to work with despite what can be frustrating and unpredictable work. I have worked with them to streamline our processes and every week we have been improving. Using a virtual assistant was new to me and my husband for our real estate business. We did a lot of research and decided on UAssist.me. We have been very pleased with that decision ever since. I love that our virtual assistant has created a manual that allows me to seamlessly complete rare tasks with ease. Also, I know that if our VA is out sick or on vacation, another VA can complete tasks without skipping a beat. It is very nice to know that our needs are going to be covered without fail. Additionally, our VA is self-sufficient. Our VA checks her to-do-task file daily and works independently to complete items. While we may need to work together on occasion, as the VA learns a new task, 90% of the time our VA works independently. The technology knowledge of our VA is most valuable. I do not have a strong technology background. When I get in a jam, the VA researches, find the answer, uses screen shots to then get me through the issue, step by step.

My company worked with one assistant from Uassist.me for a few month on a part time basis. Overall, I have been really happy with the work my assistant provided which was mainly updating social media sites and doing photoshop work. We used the walkie talkie app Voxer to communicate and it worked really well for us. Unfortunately, due to massive time zone differences we had to cancel the subscription.
However, I would recommend Uassist.me to anyone who is looking for a VA.
It can be difficult to find reliable people. With Uassist.me, their entire operation very professional from leadership to assistant. They are quick to respond, reliable, and you really feel like you have a great resource as part of your team.
They also are able to provide multiple skill sets. If your assistant is not available for a day, you will know ahead of time and have backup support.

I have been working with uassist.me for several months now and could not be happier. My initial project was having them put together keynote presentations based off of articles that I had written. I needed someone who could read the article and make the presentation without me having to tell them what to put on the slides. If anyone has worked with overseas freelancers in the past you likely know that these types of projects which require discretion normally cause issues.
I am pleased to say that after just a couple pieces of feedback on the first presentation my VA now puts the presentations together with zero input from me. Since they did such a good job with that I asked if they could edit videos for me as well, which to my surprise was not a problem either. The same VA was able to edit videos using final cut pro without an issue. I have also used him to setup a podcast, design my youtube channel and more.
While I have not had any issues I also take comfort in the fact that uassist.me has managers that work direclty with the VA’s that I could have contacted had their been any issues.

My experience with UAssist.Me over the last 9 months has been outstanding in every way.
My assistant is exceptional. She has done a far better job than any of the ‘in office’ assistants I have had in both quality and efficiency. She speaks English at least as well as I do (and is teaching me some more Spanish). She is very responsive and she makes fewer mistakes than I would if I was doing the work myself.
My assistant basically runs our entire company. She is responsible for all email and physical mail (we scan it to Google Drive). She produces all production documentation and creates all invoices. She enters bills, creates purchase orders, and processes payroll. I spend about 30 minutes a day to QC what she has done but there are rarely mistakes.
None of this happened by magic, though. First, I interviewed until I found someone who had the skills and the right attitude. Second, I spent a lot of time with her in the beginning on training and I only handed off new tasks when she had mastered the current ones. Third, we wrote a detailed procedure manual together that we have kept up to date. Finally, we communicate whenever necessary over Skype usually by text message, but verbally and with shared screens for complex questions.
The relationship with a virtual assistant is no different than any other relationship. It all comes down to the people involved. I consider myself fortunate that the person I chose turned out to be a very high quality individual. I give the credit for that to UAssist.Me. They found and hired her, not me.
The success of the relationship is based in communication. We spent many hours on Skype in the first few months. I knew that I wanted to achieve a situation where my assistant was basically running the business, and it was important that she understand both what and why.
We also built the processes, systems, and controls that we needed. It was more that we adjusted things that were already in place to fit the virtual assistant paradigm.
A lot of people were skeptical that this would work, but it did … beautifully. I have recommended UAssist.Me to several friends who are now using the service and loving it as much as I do.

First and foremost is that I was skeptical to sign up and if I hadn’t that would have been the biggest mistake I have ever made to my business. The communication level, both oral and written, along with the intellect of every member of this company that I have dealt with far exceeded my expectation!
My assistant, Wendy, feels so much more to me like a co-worker/friend than an assistant. She is very responsive to all the tasks as I provide them but even more importantly she goes on to complete items on her own without me having to intervene and give direction; she knows exactly what to do and just does it. I absolutely love this about her!! I never have to worry about if something is getting done or not because she is always on top of it that by the time I even begin to ask about something she already has it complete.
She is also very smart and thinks on her feet so things don’t stop if there is uncertainty, she will ask me for clarity if needed but most of the time she just figures it out.
I have her speak directly with my clients and every single one of them has had over the top nice things to say about her. I actually prefer that she speaks with them before me most times because she does such an excellent job in setting them up for me and thus making my job by far so much easier.
She is a true partner to me and has saved me so much time; she is a true asset to me and my business! I feel that she is a part of my business and she has the same genuine concerns as I do, which, as any business owner knows, is the most important aspect to ever have with anyone who works with you.
I have hired many employees in the past along with other virtual assistant companies and she, and Uassist.me, is by far the best solution, hands down!
In regards to the company directly and the management I have absolutely nothing negative to say. My payment is processed accurately and conveniently that I don’t have to keep up with it, saving me time. Since there are no problems I rarely have to deal with management at all but when I have, such as when signing up, to discuss vacation time, etc., they have been extremely professional and direct enough so as to not take any more of my time than needed.
Also, I really like their formula of concentrating on task versus hours. With other companies, and employees at times, I feel “nickeled and dimed” and I have to keep up with exactly what they are doing and how long it takes per tasks. This is counterproductive for me and requires more time than I have to give. I have no need or desire to micromanage and the last thing that I need is another task for me to do. Some days are light, some days are heavy, but the work gets done everyday.
I think this company has, teaches, and hires based off of their solid core values and team work mentality. This is a fantastic benefit that I get to take advantage of everyday that they work with me.
The last thing I will say about Uassit.me management is that they care about you as a customer even in the basic sense of how many hours you spend on. They discuss with you the primary tasks that you have and your feeling on how long tasks that they are not familiar with take and suggest a plan that fits you best. Never once do they try to force you to pay for hours on you that you don’t need.
Nothing I say could ever amount to the proper recommendation, they have been that great to work with!!!

I want to take a little time to write about how happy I am with my TWO assistants from UAssist.me. I am the founder, CEO, and Head Writer and Editor for two related but separate companies. I first contracted from UAssist.Me for an administrative assistant to help me with just “keeping things straight” as well as doing some (OK, a LOT) of the posts for my blogs as well as marketing articles and other writing tasks as necessary. That went so well, I then contracted an additional assistant to manage all of my social media and web maintenance and design tasks. Priscila and Danny are very well trained, are a joy to work with, and are able to complete in a timely manner any and all tasks I have for them. What could I possibly say about these guys that hasn’t been said before?
Well, I truly enjoy working with them. In my case, every task has been successfully delivered and professionally executed, from the easiest screening call with a client to keep up with a rather messy QuickBooks account. Sure, they might be a little bit more expensive than other companies I tried before, however, I think they’re definitely worth the extra bucks. I particularly enjoy having someone equally qualified assigned to my stuff when my “main” assistant is not around (she had a baby recently and had a three month maternity leave). If they hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t have known! Their work was consistently brilliant.
Give them a try, it’s worth the investment.
I had a couple of experiences with assistants from different companies prior finding Uassist.me and the outcome was certainly different… Even though I always try to allocate as much time as I can, some people just wouldn’t understand my vision, unlike Patricia, from Uassist.me. She has been nothing but golden for me.
Granted, at the beginning, I had to take a little bit of time (which I was already tired of doing – and a bit reluctant), but she has helped me millions since then. She took ownership of everything that I delegated her and continues to do so, at the time being, she’s my point of contact for all the rest of virtual staff I have in my business, she’s slowly moved on to a shared resource to a full-time resource, at the beginning they worked from 2-4 hours per day, depending on what I needed and as I long as I gave clear guidelines everything came through like golden. Anyway, I think allocating a bit of time went a long way with them – and when she has been out sick or on vacation, her back-up, Karen, does a wonderful job as well.
