The company was founded and is headed up by Dawson Whitfield. With experience in graphic design and freelance work, Dawson realized that most entrepreneurs just wanted simple, high-quality logos, at the lowest possible price.
This gave Dawson the idea to replace himself with artificial intelligence capable of designing high-quality logos. Dawson spent several months on the algorithm behind the logo generating software and starting the company.
The site launched in November 2016 on Product Hunt. Although they have only been in business for less than a month at the time of writing this Dawson says the response from customers, “has been overwhelmingly positive and we hope to establish ourselves as the go-to online application for logo design.”

The company’s target customers are entrepreneurs, small business owners, and early-stage startups. Basically, anyone who doesn’t have the budget to work one-on-one with a graphic designer to design their logos and branding material.
How Looka Works
Looka has a well-designed interface to take you through a few quick steps from start to finish. These are:
- Choose Inspiration – You choose a few general logo types you like the look and style of. These form the base of the logos the AI will generate.
- Choose Color Scheme – Next you choose a block of colors to be used in your logo design.
- Company Name and Slogan – Add your company name and a slogan if you have one. This will be used as text on your design.
- Pick up to 3 Symbols – Based on keywords of your choice you can choose up to 3 different icons to be used on your logo from a library of over 500,000 unique designs.
Based on your choices in the 4 steps above you will be presented with a few logos. By selecting which logos you like the algorithm will continue to return more logos that meet your specifications until your focus down on the one logo you like best.
There are no graphic designers or assistants to talk to while going through the process. There is however customer support that will get back to you within 24 hours if you have any questions.
I went through the process myself to test it out, and after a little difficulty in creating my account (“Your name is too long or too short”; “Your password is too long or too short” — not helpful!), the app generated a few different options for me:

Plans and Pricing
It’s free to build unlimited logos, which is great because it means you can practice and browse plenty of logo ideas without committing. You only pay when you want to download the logo you have chosen, there are three different pricing plans.
- Basic – $20, you can download a low-resolution logo on a white background.
- Premium – $65, you can download a high-resolution logo, ready for use in print, on a transparent background, and with black and white versions.
- Enterprise – $165, you get all the same features as the Premium package and a one hour design session with one of their designers.

I’m surprised to read all the negative reviews about Logojoy. I’m a new startup business and I needed to cut certain start-up costs. I stumbled upon Logojoy while doing research about other e-commerce business. So, I decided to give it a try. I played around with the site for a couple days and finally decided on a layout. I purchased my Logo and received all my downloads within an hour of purchasing. I selected the $65 Premium option, plus the Social Media Kit. Now, while my logo wasn’t worth $65; all the other files associated with my purchase was more than worth it! Lastly, prior to my purchase, I had some questions. I called and spoke with Kristin and she was extremely helpful and instrumental in helping me make a decision. I’m glad I purchased from Logojoy and it’s good to know they’ve improved their services.
After spending hours creating different logos to play with designs and colors giving myself a few choices, I finally selected my perfect logo and was very happy and ready to creating my marketing materials. I spent $65 for the premium package I didn’t receive my package, I sent a message through chat (no response), I gave them a call on the very generic phone line (no answer) I downloaded my file and all I received were files that contained only my background color. No logo at all. A complete waste of time and money that I could have spent elsewhere that would have produced an actual logo! It looks like the creators of this site just found a fully automated way to take your money, because even though when you download your “logo” and the files are a bunch of nothing, you get no refund because you downloaded their blank files. I am VERY FRUSTRATED AND DISAPOINTED!

I have paid for the premium package and Logo Joy have not sent me my logos. I cannot get into contact with anyone. The Website told me it would send me my logos automatically. I hope Logo Joy are reading this because if they do not resolve the issue I will be taking this further,
Customer service is not the best policy for this company and it’s very frustrated to even have someone take a close look at the issue, I had a log that i wanted to purchase and was doing a change of colour when the image i selected was gone. I refresh and nothing was there. I had reach top a few of the team service member of logojoy, but it was nooooo help from more than we are sorry but no attempt to see the reason for the logo not to be there and on top of that i have a few unwanted logo that i want to clear from my inbox and the site would not allow me to do so, again. i explain the issue to customer service still no help what so ever. i even offer to give them my login information so they could see it them self NO RESPOND !!!!!
I love the results I received with Logojoy. My advice is to play around with the logos before making a purchase. Maybe some people don’t realize but you can change and alternate the features of the logo and you can do it all before you actually purchase. I was actually impressed with all the different variations, formats, and pixel sizes that came along with my package. I totally recommend Logojoy.

I recently had a terrible experience with LogoJoy, and I really wish I had seen these reviews first. My impression of the company is that it’s a bunch of kids playing with some software. They have no idea how to run a business and I was in tears by the time I finally got my logo. Their followup was so anemic and ill-prepared it was insulting. Avoid at all costs.

These guys are running a scam. Stay away. After payment is made, nobody bothers to reply to your further queries. Delivery is late or never. I had my saved data wiped out for no apparent reason. This thing is a joke! STAY AWAY. You have been warned.

I had a great experience working with Felicia! She responded promptly and went above and beyond to help (even when I noticed an omission – by my own fault) from my logo. I had my logo within minutes and the revision within hours. Could not expect any better, and have been receiving compliments from friends on the logo design/quality. I would highly recommend them!
In reading some of the bad reviews above, I know where you are coming from since my initial experience with Logojoy’s customer service was quite frustrating. It definitely made you feel that no one was really there and that you might be totally wasting your time. However, I did persevere over several days and Dan (one of the customer service people) did ultimately prove to be helpful to me and absolutely followed through on what he agreed to. I had asked for some edits to be done do the initial logo that could not be done on the automated logo editor. Dan made sure that I did receive the edits and I was happy with them. The downloads went well and the delivered logos were excellent quality and can be used in a variety of formats. I ended up being happy with the product and as well as with my experience with Dan.

Logojoy is a great company to use to design your logo. They have a wide selection of styles, colors. and fonts that are available. Prior to using Logojoy I had never designed a logo before. They made it very easy for me and even offered me assistance with making adjustments. I received my high quality logo within minutes of purchasing. I was able to get a logo and found the process quick and easy. Yes, it’s true that they don’t reply to emails as o purchased a logo and most of the files ate corrupted and the logo is out of proportion. Really disappointed, would not recommend. Asking for the design to be amended or demand a reply. But no reply from the them.
I had an awesome experience with Logojoy! The hardest part was selecting which logo to go with because there were quite a few that I would have been very happy with. I had one tweak that I wanted to make with the design and worked with Dan while online and he was able to create the logo exactly to my specification. Awesome service and great help from Dan. I was very close to paying $750 to a high-end designer and ended up paying only $65 for a logo that our team believes looks better in the end. Excellent service. I am staring up my own business and I started with a simple design, I then decided to modify i. I emailed Felicia over 10 times to make small modifications to my Logo, shift symbols around, add Copyright symbol, change file format and she was excellent every time. With so many options to choose from when designing your logo and then when you buy it (recommend premium for a great service) you can tweak it with your own designer to exactly what you want. A very bad service ,, zero ,, nill .. I have never seen a customer service like this in my whole life . The design it took a week to download and boom .. the logo was low resolution and I can’t use in my future printing .. what a waste of money .. don’t buy from them .
Great website – DON’T BE FOOLED need a huge lesson in customer service. I offered to give their “CEO” my story about how it took 15 emails and a phone call to deliver the logo that I designed myself. All I got was excuses on why they couldn’t deliver without an apology or any EMPATHY. VERY disappointing. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS WEBSITE unless you like an absolute run around.

Totally true, very bad customer service. They sent me the logo after a few days and the files in several folders were corrupted…And nobody on the logojoy team is helping me remaking or resend me the correct files for my logo…

I would NOT recommend using this company AT ALL. Emails, chats and phone calls go unanswered. Once I did finally hear back, I was told that once I purchased my logo, one of the designers would make the edits I requested. So I purchased and then didn’t hear back. I had to call and email multiple times and then I got pushback on the designer moving one word to another line without having to ‘pay more.’ Do NOT use this company-total rip off! I am trying to get my money back as well.
Sadly, I too have had the same experience. A simple response via email would have suffice. You ask for payment upfront and once payment is received, its been radio silence since then. None of my calls or emails were returned.

I can absolutely not recommend this company. I ordered and paid via credit card for a logo. They say that they will deliver the logo via e-Mail within a few hours. The logo was never delivered. E-Mails to Dawson were not answered. Finally, a few days later, Dawson answered and said he will send the logo in the afternoon. He never did. I finally had to contact my credit card company to get my money back
