OkayRelax operates on kind of a hybrid model between a dedicated virtual assistant service and a task-based approach where any available team member can tackle your assignments.
While a distributed team approach does have certain advantages, the founders of OkayRelax felt there were some major problems with it as well. For example, if you’re constantly explaining repetitive tasks to new VAs, you’re never gaining any efficiency or process improvement ideas.
Plus, if you’re sharing sensitive data or login information, you don’t want that spread around to an army of anonymous virtual assistants.
OkayRelax – How it Works
The service is set-up around tasks, mini-projects up to 30 minutes, but unlike competitors Fancy Hands and Efficise, you get a dedicated assistant.
OkayRelax assistants work from home and serve (English-speaking) clients worldwide. The company’s proprietary screening and training process makes sure they can deliver exceptional service.

OkayRelax handles a range of virtual assistant tasks, but they really do focus on your individual needs as opposed to the needs of your business or company.
For example, they can book you a table at a local restaurant if you’ve forgotten to make a reservation or they could recommend an activity for you if you’re not quite sure what to do next weekend.

I rely on OkayRelax for a number of recurring tasks related to my blog and podcast. I’ve been with the company since 2015 and am on my 4th assistant. They’ve all been reliable and worked well within my instructions.

OkayRelax plans start at $29.95 a month for a 5 task plan. For comparison, Fancy Hands is also $30 for the same 5 tasks.
The popular 25-task plan runs $99.95 per month and heavy users can outsource 100 tasks under the OkayRelax Executive plan for $299.95 per month.

If you “max out” the 30-minute per task guideline, you’re looking at equivalent labor rates as low as $12 an hour on the Starter plan, $8 an hour for the Professional plan, and theoretically as low as $6 an hour for the Executive plan.

Important Note: You can save up to 25% opting for annual billing, which might be worth a look if you find you really like the service.
You can assign tasks of up to 2.5 hours, and they’ll just charge 5 credits from your account. This is super handy because they recognize that not all jobs fit into nice 15-30 minute chunks.
Unused tasks roll over to the next month as long as you’re actively subscribed to your current plan or higher.
OkayRelax Alternatives
OkayRelax follows in the footsteps of other task-based virtual assistant companies, but with their own unique twist. As mentioned above, Efficise, Fancy Hands, and Perssist all operate similar models, though without the dedicated assistant.
In fact, I’m having a hard time thinking of another service that offers a dedicated VA for less than $100 a month.

I found OkayRelax here. I was having trouble with another VA service that just turned down everything I gave them or gave an excuse why they couldn’t do it. OkayRelax stepped up took my tasks and did them. It was a dream come true. I’ve very happy with the service and plan to be a long time customer.
I have used OkayRelax on a number of occasions, so as a repeat customer (current subscription has been for the last 8 months) I personally would recommend.
Yes, you have do be quite specific in what you ask for, and sometimes it can take a couple of attempts to get the right thing but once you and your assigned VA have figured out how to work together well, it really is a great service. Quality and even approach to tasks does vary from VA to VA but I experienced very good value for money, very good service and very good comms all round.
Their VAs handled my tasks perfectly, often doing a far better job that I could have myself. It was an enormous help to me. Honestly, I can’t think of a single thing to find fault with over the months and the many tasks that I asked for help with.
Worst service and waste of money. they copy and past stuff from google with no actual research or probably even reading the results. I keep forgetting to cancel but this month will be my last. Please do not waste your money as I have.
OkayRelax is perhaps the cheapest and most effective virtual assistant service I’ve tried and I couldn’t be happier!! My dedicated assistant is easy to converse with and finishes her tasks carefully and properly. Overall I’m happy with the service 🙂

First, how they selected the VA assigned to me was perfect. I thought some of my tasks would be too hard for the VA since I’m a bit technical, but OkayRelax did an amazing job at selecting who to assign to me so it’s like I have doubled my working capacity.
Second, I know OkayRelax is some kind of agency, and they house many VAs. So I know that down on the ground, it’s really the VA that does most of the work. And let me tell you, my VA is a HARD WORKER. I can’t emphasize that further and I’m so grateful for a VA like her.
Third, my time and money are being spent its worth here at OkayRelax. And nobody wants those 2 resources of ours wasted.
Overall, HIGHLY recommended. Haven’t been disappointed in my 2 years with them.

DO NOT USE OKAYRELAX. AVOID AVOID AVOID
I had an experience with a trial of OkayRelax about a year ago that ended relatively poorly but, after reading this review, decided that I would give it another shot. I was informed that free trials were no longer available, so I figured (against my better judgment) I’d just shell out the cash and give it a go.
This was a horrible mistake.
My first assistant had hours that were incompatible with mine – for some reason I was assigned someone on the east coast in spite of living on the west – that seemed like a small enough problem to solve and I was assigned an assistant to better fit my hours in relatively short order.
My second assistant, Shazar, however demonstrated an excessively poor attention to detail and incredibly slow response times. I informed support of this and was told that I would receive a new VA but was never assigned one. When I spoke to support directly, via chat, they said they’d fast track it (and told me that I wouldn’t be able to receive a refund – figures) and I got an email back from support saying that I’d get a new assistant within 24 hours.
72 hours later, no new assistant, no response from support – I talked to the head of customer service, Tammy P, about these issues – again requesting a refund and pasting in details from my chat transcript. Her service is awful, this service has been awful, and I highly HIGHLY recommend you avoid OkayRelax at all costs. I highly recommend you disregard whatever response she writes to this review — that was another of my big mistakes, I thought their response was a sufficient explanation of the situations they detailed.

We understand how important it is for you to have an assistant with hours that are aligned with yours. As you had requested for a dedicated assistant to closely work with you for entire 8-hour shifts, we tried our best to provide you with one who could cater to your specific needs, as this is what our primary goal is.
Unfortunately, it was difficult for us to find someone with the availability that you wanted, causing the delay in getting back to you with a new assistant. For clarity, our VAs handle tasks for several clients during their shift, which means that they cannot be available for a single client for the entire 8 hours. We understand the frustration that comes with the uncertainty of not receiving enough updates on this reassignment, and for this, we humbly apologize.
We hope you understand that in everything we do at OkayRelax, we always consider the overall situation of everyone involved. Unfortunately in this case, we feel that it would be unfair for us to subject our assistants to hours that are beyond what they are required. Having said that, we are once again sorry that we were unable to articulate this concern during the entire situation. Update to my prior review on May 9th… Shahzar started off great, but did not pay attention to the detail I put on one of the tasks and ended up doing basically nothing other than pointing me to websites containing the information I had asked him to obtain for me. More importantly though, the recurring task I had expected each Monday was consistently late – sometimes as much as three days late. I ended up receiving more emails about when to expect the completion of the task than the actual task email.
I contact support last Wednesday to request that my VA be switched, and as of Monday received zero response. I went onto chat this morning to follow up, and clearly they weren’t interested. I also noted that I was being charged $129.95/month for a service advertised at $99.95/month. So, not only was a getting crappy service, I was being overcharged. Not impressed and can certainly no longer recommend. I’m canceling my subscription and looking for another firm.
I’m new to OkayRelax and signed up for them based on the reviews here (and after reading the 4 Hour Work Week). My dedicated assistant is Shahzar K, and so far, my results have been excellent. He’s handling one recurring reporting task that’s now saving my time each week, and has also completed two small research projects that have both gone very well. It takes a while to get used to relying on someone else to do these things, but if you can get into the habit, it’s highly recommended!

Terrible service. One very simple task has so far taken over 2 days. A pointless waste of time and money.

We have investigated this matter thoroughly and in light of this, please allow us to inform you what happened. You submitted a task which required us to log into your Google account, and set the priority to medium. This was submitted outside of the work hours of your assigned assistant. When your assistant got to the task within 12 hours, Google indicated that the password had already been changed 8 hours earlier, which was 4 hours after your task submission. During this time, we were saddened to see that you had already posted negative reviews of our service on various platforms.
While we can handle time-sensitive tasks and do so daily, we recommend submitting tasks during your assistant’s work hours if you would like it to be handled right away to ensure that this unfortunate incident would not happen again. You may also opt to set a task to recurring if you need it done on a specific day each week; this is common for tasks like replying to comments or emails. If your schedule doesn’t align well with your current assistant, you can submit a request to our support department to be switched to an assistant with different work hours. We cover all time zones, so finding someone that fits your schedule wouldn’t be a problem.
We would love to see you back on our platform so we can turn this around and give you the high-quality virtual assistance we take pride in. Shoot us another task and we would be more than happy to attend to it the best way that we can.

Shahzar at OkayRelax has been working with me for about two months on travel planning, expense tracking, and miscellaneous other tasks. He pays great attention to detail, often including useful information I didn’t think to ask for, while being consistently friendly and accommodating.
I have been with OkayRelax for almost 2 years now and within a few months of joining, I subscribed to their dedicated assistant service as I really liked the service they offered.
Angel was assigned to me and she is a god-send! She is very good at getting tasks completed accurately as per your instructions independently without much hand-holding, she is very thorough and detailed and also creative in finding solutions.

After a recommendation from a trusted mentor, I decided to look into how a VA might be able to help me keep my head above water with day-to-day tasks for the communications consulting company I launched about 1.5 years ago. Firstly: shout-out to Virtual Assistant Assistant for helping guide me from there — although the concept of VAs was nothing new to me, I didn’t realize how nascent the industry still is. When I set out to research wtf VAs really are, I was simultaneously overwhelmed by all of the available companies to choose from and confused by the lack of solid, reliable peer feedback. Until I stumbled upon this site…
ANYWAY, I continued my research — checking out various companies + comparing pricing, then cross-referencing with Virtual Assistant Assistant and, ultimately, came to the conclusion that: the VA industry is still a bit of the wild west — it’s not like Uber/Lyft where there are some strong leaders that people naturally gravitate toward. It’s a niche industry and each company’s offerings are slightly different. For me, it became a matter of testing out a few options to figure out what was best for my specific needs. Which is what led me to Okay Relax.
I started my first month with Okay Relax having done *some* research on how to work with a VA, but, in fairness, I was still a newbie / gave myself a full month to try it on for size without overthinking the process. What resulted was game-changing. I first tested out a month of unlimited tasks and was assigned a designated VA: Tammy (who has since become a resource of super hero proportions in my life). Given I had unlimited asks, I wrote out a long list of every single thing I could think to ask (things that could be done in ~30 mins) — some were work-related, others were simply things that came to mind on the spot. Depending on the task I was assigning, I would either select to delegate it to Tammy directly, or send it to the “Task Pool”, and I received phenomenal results with both options.
For me, I found it helpful to reach out to Tammy directly when the task at-hand was either personal, or something that I didn’t fully know how to explain, but knew that Tammy could interpret and assess accordingly. For broader asks — i.e. “help me build a list of reporters who cover XX [subject]”, not only do I trust the “Task Pool” to complete them — I now know they will deliver top-notch results, regardless of how vague, weird, annoying or menial the ask. Okay Relax has clearly done an amazing job of training all VAs to deliver amazing customer support. The result is a team of professional, responsive and thoughtful VAs that genuinely put their all into helping the client with any ask. For instance, Emerald, one of Okay Relax’s VAs, assigned to a handful of the tasks I’ve submitted to the Pool and she treats each of the tasks as though she were my designated VA.
Okay Relax does a great job of taking note of personal preferences, so that, no matter which VA is completing your task, they’re all doing it to your liking. For example, I prefer to receive docs via Google Drive vs. Microsoft Word / Excel. After letting Okay Relax know this, every task I’ve submitted since has been in a Google Doc. Separately, it feels as though all of the VAs I’ve worked with (especially Tammy) have experience in exactly the areas you need them to. I can ask something as vague as, “I’m not sure how to get doctor referrals from my health insurance” and Tammy not only gives me a detailed report — breaking it down into layman’s terms — but also proactively offers to handle the next steps for me, in an effort to take more off my plate. Another example: the other day, knowing I had a handful of tasks left in my 2nd month, I decided to put a simple ask out to the Pool, asking if anyone could help me do some industry research on my industry (PR / communications). Jenny responded right away letting me know she was on it. 24 hours later, she sent me a *51 page* research report, including more details than I ever could’ve asked for / exceeding my expectations.
The one downside is that Okay Relax doesn’t have a mobile app. To be fair, I didn’t get far enough along in my research phase to find out whether other VA companies do have more of a mobile presence, but, it does seem to me that the industry, as a whole, is a bit dated in its application of technology. That said, I’ve adapted to Okay Relax’s web platform and would never sacrifice this level of customer support for the convenience of an app.
I highly recommend Okay Relax to anyone who’s looking for high-quality VA assistance — particularly people who are able to trust that someone will be on it and aren’t too nit-picky about who it is (as long as the job gets done right). As corny as it sounds: the Okay Relax team has changed my life. I feel like a super hero with them. I wake up and things that have been weighing on me for months are completed — while I was sleeping. While it definitely does take time to spell out what I need from each task (in order to get the precise results I’m looking for), I never feel as though I have to over-explain anything. If anything, Tammy and the rest of the team are able to read my mind and anticipate next steps, then just make it all happen.

I have been working with Mohammed at Okay Relax for 2 months now, he has been a pleasure. Being on a completely different time zone makes me have to replan how I use my assistant, but having my emails organized for me, my online research completed each night before I get to the office the next day… Not to shabby. Be aware that you really need to plan how you are going to use the VA, if you don;t you will be spending money and not using all your credits (I went 2 weeks without using a credit). Overall it has been a great experience.

I just want to take a moment to say how much I absolutely LOVE Okayrelax. I’ve been using them for several months now and they are by far my favorite service. It’s the perfect blend between personal touch and pool based tasks.
I have several daily and weekly tasks that my personal assistant handles for me. They are always done on time and extremely well. Any adjustments are generally caused by me not communicating what I need effectively or data not being available that I’m having them pull. When I ask for a change, it is done promptly.
For more generic tasks, I will generally send it out to the pool where they will generally get back to me in a day or two (more than good enough).
For anything urgent, I reach out to my assistant (since I know his schedule) and it is done extremely quickly.
Overall, these guys go above an beyond and I could not be happier with them!

Unfortunately a very bad experience for me. My assistant was always busy with somebody else’s tasks. Constantly delayed (a week or more to complete a simple task), constant excuses, promises to do better next time, etc. I was assigned another assistant and had the same issues. I have screenshots of time of completion of various late tasks and communications with their customer service and management if somebody is interested to check them out. I gave them one opportunity after another until I just couldn’t accept keep paying for poor service anymore.

Not one of my tasks were completed by OkayRelax without me getting involved. I wound up having to finish every task on my own. In addition, when I signed up for a 5 task trial, it was not clear that it was a recurring monthly subscription. I realized it after 3 additional months of billing. Although I never requested more than 5 tasks, they refused to credit me for 3 months of billings. Terrible service and reprehensible customer service.

I signed up about a month in a half ago. It has been nothing but smooth sailing. They have created accounts for me completed research and other task all in a very timely manner. I have nothing but praise for “Okay Relax”

Okay Relax was supposed to make my life easier but it ended up being a huge waste of time and money for us!!! The tasks required constant back and forth with the assistants and were not done in a timely manner (over a week for certain tasks). So, after two months we cancelled….except 3 months later I find out that we have been getting charged every month!!! They set you up for autopay without any confirmation and refuse to refund. Over $300 and all it did was cost me time and stress!!

Not impressed at all so far. Have had to manage the hell out of these guys for not-great results and a lot of excuses. Put in a task with medium priority – 12 hours later, no one had picked it up. Had frustrating exchange with customer service, who blamed me for putting in a request after 5pm (note that what they call their “operable hours” are not posted anywhere on their site; they are *only* 9am=5pm M-F). Had to threaten to cancel my service before someone picked up the task. (I joined as a “premium” member.) Put in another, simple task – find a doctor near my house (in a major city), who takes my insurance. Assistant took all day to get me one name of a doc – outside of the parameters. Sent that back for further work but – guess what? Not only is there no service after 5pm, no one works on tasks over the weekends. I’m going to try them for another week, but so far, this is some bull***

Been using OkayRelax for a few months now and have had a great experience.
It’s the only service that’s affordable while still allowing you access to a dedicated assistant, and for me being matched with someone who you develop trust in and who can understand your preferences is a big deal. If you want more instant turnaround on a task than a dedicated assistant can provide, you can assign it to a task pool for anyone who’s around.
And my assistant’s been great about calling me for clarifications and doing complicated tasks that require coordination and stretch across multiple blocks of time.
Downsides: the UI is pretty clunky, though generally workable – you have to submit tasks through a PHP form on a website rather than an app or e-mail, and it’s not clear how many credits each task takes. And communication of the status of longer in-progress tasks could be better.
Overall though, great value, and will be my primary service moving forward.

So, far very dissapointed with the service offered by OkayRelax.
It has been a week, and the task is not completed yet! In the mean time I contacted customer support, their answer included:
“… due to a slight problem in our server your task vanished from the task pool that is why no VA was able to attend it. I will get someone immediately on it and you will get it done tomorrow for sure.”
than 2 days later on Friday someone emailed me that they working on my task assuring it will be done same day, however today we have Monday and no sign of life from OkayRelax

Not sure what is with this service, have requested 2 tasks all research based (maybe too difficult) since Thursday evening & not heard a word from my main VA or the random pool. I signed up for the highest level of service and it’s like the sound of crickets so far with them. Each virtual assistant I’ve interacted with has been excellent. Each one is highly attentive to detail and provides exemplary results.
Currently, I have the Starter Plan, which means I only have access to random assistants. However, now that I have seen what OkayRelax is capable of, I am considering the Professional Plan to obtain a dedicated personal virtual assistant.
I’ve used OkayRelax for a few months now. Like everyone else stated below. Their quality of work have been very high. Great communication, and my VA has done a fantastic job. Saves so much of my time. The only down side is that their turnover time can take a few days so I never assign them time sensitive tasks.
This is my first experience working with a virtual assistant service and I am seriously impressed! My dedicated assistant Moiz always provides great results to any task I submit. I also find that their website and communication with my assistant is extremely user-friendly.
With the constant drama of kids and work, OkayRelax has really taken a lot of weight off my shoulders. I highly recommend!
I cancelled the service within the first month because of general incompetence and failure to pay attention to detail. Several times tasks were delayed for DAYS as we traded emails clarifying what I was looking for – when I asked my dedicated assistant to call me so we could get a move on he just never replied. I ended up doing 4 out of the initial 7 tasks myself, with 1 (which was time sensitive) simply going undone.
A great concept, but the service overall is a huge failure.
I have used the service when the price was 5 request for $14.95 and 25 request was $49.95. The service is fair. I needed someone to call back clients and obtain information. I found this to be difficult for the service to truly do. Phone calls were made without leaving messages. Questions were not answered sufficiently. Leaving me to follow-up and do the work myself. I ask the assistant to obtain information about certain hotels. This was a test because one of the hotels I gave I already had many of the answers. The information came back incorrect and unreliable. When I asked about certain amenities I was told the hotel was lacking. I knew they didn’t not call or even go the website. I was unhappy about this. Finally, I had a credit card incident that made me stop using their service. Someone started making reservations with my credit card information. Thankfully my bank stepped in and no money was taken but for 4 days this “person” were trying to spend over $1000 of my money. I don’t want to blame them but I surely didn’t feel comfortable that this happened as soon as I joined. So I left. Soon as I left and looked at their site again the price had risen extremely. I would be careful using this service.
I have been using Okay Relax for about 4 months, and after a slightly rocky start I have found my virtual assistant, Ainee, to be an invaluable help. She is polite, responsive, communicates well, and the quality of her work is very high. Based on my interactions with Ainee I would rate the service as 5 stars, but my initial experience with a different assistant and using the task pool was less positive. I asked to be switched to Ainee, and since then I have had no problems, and the service offers great value for money.
I tried signing up for this service a week ago. So far I haven’t had any updates on the task I requested. I would expect at least some indication of progress, and a week is way too long. It seems like they don’t have it all together.
This service is just ok, but not outstanding.
On their website, they claim the VA can do anything from updating a website, to making calls to email newsletters to scheduling. I’m finding that this is not the case.
For calls and simple data entry tasks, it has worked out well. Turnaround is about 24 hours. Don’t send anything super urgent.
However, I had a WordPress website update task. The VA told me that he didn’t know WordPress, but would try to learn it. I sent a video, but the ticket just stayed open for days and days and days.
Also, I wish there was a better way to contact the VA’s. The only way I know to ask a question is to open a ticket, which burns a credit. But, you can get that reversed.
I DO like that they will make follow up calls. I kept my account open at the basic level for this reason.
However, I’m also getting an overseas VA via Upwork to handle the tasks that OK Relax can’t or won’t do.
I have been using the service for about 3 weeks now and am very happy with my assistant, Shahzar. OkayRelax has been a great help with my admin tasks. I’m an author with a lot of books and properties to manage and it was getting to the point where I was overwhelmed, but I wasn’t yet ready to hire an employee. The fact that you get a dedicated VA who gets to know you and how you work was the big selling point for me compared to other services. This service is a great way to get experience with a VA and will teach you how to work with one. Can’t recommend them enough.

I had been considering finding a service like this for some time, and a recent Simpleology article comparing top virtual assistant companies (http://web.simpleology.com/i/link.php?M=1596821&N=4870&L=1807&F=H) helped me make my decision. Okay Relax made the top of their list, and I can see why. As others have said, the interface itself is very intuitive, simple, and mostly bug-free (I was multitasking while writing up a detailed task and the system logged me out, causing me to lose everything I’d written. Should’ve known better, but frustrating nonetheless). Larger tasks use more credits, which makes perfect sense. This is managed by your dedicated assistant, and so far mine is very reasonable with how this is handled. The tasks that I’ve given directly to my virtual assistant have been completed very promptly. I tried to spread out the workload by assigning a couple of tasks to the “task pool,” and so far these are not being handled as efficiently. In my case, my best bet seems to be to give everything to my dedicated assistant. I’m very pleased with this service and imagine that I’ll be using it more and more as I get used to having a dedicated assistant.
What can I say – these guys really are awesome! Very courteous, hard working and responsive to my needs. I can’t ask for more. The pricing is sensible, and the level of communication is excellent. Highly recommended!
OkRelax is my first experience with virtual assistant services. And so far, my experience has been fantastic. My designated assistant, John M., has perfectly understood the deliverables I wanted for each task. And he has delivered great quality work every time. The service interface is extremely easy to use. You just describe the task you need done in a window box. And you can always call or email your designated assistant to discuss it. The service also has support staff which you can call or email, to answer questions about the service. I had a question regarding mid-month plan upgrades that I emailed, and they answered it in less than 30 minutes.
I have been using the service for less than a month, so I will update my review when I have a bit more experience. But so far, the bottom line for me is this. If you need to free up some time, and you have the types of tasks that OkRelax handles, I strongly recommend giving OkRelax a try. I am very glad I did.
So far, my experience with OkayRelax has been great! My dedicated assistant has been wonderful to work with. She is polite, well-spoken and resourceful. I especially love her communication skills. She doesn’t leave me in the dark about my tasks’ progress and if she has a question, she will ask me instead of trying to guess. I recently had the chance to take a trial of the new OkayRelax virtual assistant service. I found their hybrid model of a task-based service with a dedicated assistant pretty interesting.
The quality of the work was really high, and I appreciated the opportunity to tackle longer tasks up to a couple hours by burning more task credits.
I had my dedicated assistant Ainee compile research on other outsourcing companies, find restaurant options for me to host a meetup in Chicago, and get preliminary life-insurance quotes.
The one drawback with a dedicated service like this is the turnaround times are naturally slower than with a 24/7 on-demand service. Still, the quality was very strong and I’m sure the prices will go up soon!
